PMI Ireland National Project Awards Categories

Voting is now closed and the winners will be announced on 24th November 2022 Eligibility A project will need to meet the below criteria to be eligible to apply to the Ireland Chapter of PMI National Project Awards:   The project can be of any size and type, from any industry, in public, private or voluntary sectors   The project needs to have originated in and have been managed in Ireland   The project must have been completed over the last two years  with the exception of the special award which is over the last 3 years Applications must be submitted in English   Please note: You do not need to be a member of the Ireland Chapter of PMI or professional project management association to nominate / apply for an award.    Methodologies - Applications can include adherence to any of the following Methodologies    PMI, Prince2, IPMA and Agile    Definitions A Private Sector Mulitnational Company is defined as a business that operates in many different countries at the same time.  In other words, it’s a company that has business activities in more than one country.     A Private Sector National Company is defined as a business that operates / has business activities across the island of Ireland only.   Note: Some nominations may qualify for more than one category of awards.  In such cases the nominee is free to select their preferred category.  A Public Sector organisation is defined as one that is owned or operated by the government including semi-state ownership including;    Civil Service   Defense sector   Education sector   Justice sector   Health sector   Local authorities   Non-Commercial State Agencies or NCS A Project Professional is anyone who leads or contributes to a project in anyway.  For example a Project Coordination, Director, Business Analyst etc.     Summary of the Six Award Categories No Category Summary 1 Project Professional of the Year Nominee for PM professional of the year can be from any industry in public, private or voluntary sector.  They must be currently practicing project management with at least 10-years practical experience and must hold a creditable qualification  in Project Management. Please reply to all the questions and please note the submission of any additional files with the exception of the CV (e.g. testimonials documents/links to blogs/ LinkedIn profiles, presentations, documents etc) will not be considered as part of the judging process.   Nominee for PM Professional of the year must be based in Ireland.   Anyone can nominate the PM Professional of the year however it must be done with the consent of the Nominee.  Contact details must be provided for person nominating the PM Professional of the year and the person being nominated.   Please Note: This isn't an automatic Award. Should the judges markings result in nominees not meeting at least a marking of 80% then the nominees will not be eligible for progression to the final judging panel.   2 Project Management for Social Good This category showcases projects that drive outstanding social good across the voluntary, private or public sectors. The project must deliver an element of Social Good mainly to an Irish Community.  Please reply to all the questions and please note the submission of any additional files (e/g/ presentations, documents) will not be considered as part of the judging process.   Project mainly managed from Ireland   Nominee can be Head of PMO, PMO's Organisational management, employee in organisation or customer   Nominations must have provided contact information and prior consent for submission of nomination.   3 Private Sector Project of the Year This category showcases outstanding project management in the private sector. It can cover Information Technology, Business Transformation, Engineering, Product Development or other areas. Please reply to all the questions and please note the submission of any additional files (e/g/ presentations, documents) will not be considered as part of the judging process.   Project mainly managed from Ireland   Nominee can be Head of PMO, PMO's Organisational management, employee in organisation or Customer   Nominations must have provided contact information and prior consent for submission of nomination.   4 Public Sector Project of the Year This category showcases outstanding project management in the Public Sector covering Civil Service, Health, Justice, Education, Defence, Local Government and Non-Commercial Government Agencies. It can cover Policy, Information Technology, Business Transformation, Engineering or other areas. Please just reply to all the questions and please note the submission of any additional files (e/g/ presentations, documents) will not be considered as part of the judging process.   Project mainly managed from Ireland   Nominee can be Head of PMO, PMO's Organisational management, employee in organisation or Customer   Nominations must have provided contact information and prior consent for submission of nomination.   5 PMO of the Year This category showcases outstanding PMOs supporting projects, programmes and organisations across all sectors.  The PMO can be from any industry in public or private Sector.  Please reply to all the questions and please note the submission of any additional files (e/g/ presentations, documents) will not be considered as part of the judging process.   PMO mainly managed from Ireland.   Nominee can be Head of PMO, PMO's Organisational management, employee in organisation or Customer.   Nominations must have provided contact information and prior consent for submission of nomination.   6 Special Catgeory 2022: 'Greatest National Impact Project' This year's Special Category Award is the ‘Greatest National Impact Project’ which will honour the project that has delivered the highest impact across Ireland in the last 3 years. This special category will be open for nominations across the six PMI Global Megatrends, as follows:   1. Digital Disruption – e.g. impactful use of AI, automation, digital transformation 2. Climate Crisis – e.g. delivering against sustainability goals 3. Demographic Shifts – e.g. offsetting talent gap, talent retention, preserving organisational knowledge 4. Economic Shifts – e.g. solutions for inflationary pressures, supply chain innovation, cost management 5. Labor Shortages – e.g. flexible work programme, HR innovation 6. Civil, Civic and Equality Movements e.g. diversity & inclusion initiatives This category is open to public nomination and the winner will be decided by public vote.
